UK population estimates for mid-year:

In 2008, there were more males at age 42 than at any other age, and more females at age 44 than at any other age. There is also a very noticeable peak at age 62, and a slight one at age 24.
Cambridge has the highest proportion of migrants (both to / from outside the UK, and to / from different countries of the UK) of any local authority. Second is the City of London; third is Oxford. Places seven - ten are all taken by other London boroughs.
Net international migration was 186,000 in the year to mid-2008.
