In 2008, there were more males at age 42 than at any other age, and more females at age 44 than at any other age. There is also a very noticeable peak at age 62, and a slight one at age 24.

Cambridge has the highest proportion of migrants (both to / from outside the UK, and to / from different countries of the UK) of any local authority. Second is the City of London; third is Oxford. Places seven - ten are all taken by other London boroughs.

Net international migration was 186,000 in the year to mid-2008.

England is now the most densely populated part of Europe. Property prices are so high that fewer and fewer people can afford to live in houses. More countryside is being built on. Unemployment is not so low that we need to import unskille labour (far from it). Public expenditure needs to be reduced. And that's without mentioning the environmental impact, the impact on native culture, the problems caused by immigrants who don't want to properly integrate into British society etc.

In % terms or absolute numbers of people?
