We're starting to cook for the moot, but we don't have much idea whether we're catering for two, for twenty, or for something in between! So to all you undecided people out there - If you're able to give us your best idea of whether you will be coming, which day(s) you'll be coming for, and (if you haven't already said) whether you're veggie, that would be very helpful.

If you need an incentive to come, we can offer you games, DVDs, Creatrix's cooking, Creatrix's singing, old whisky, even older beer, and a book sale in the village! But if you need an incentive to stay away, we can also offer you my cooking and my singing!

This isn't your last chance - even if you turn up unexpectedly on the day, we'll find somewhere to put you, and something to feed you on! But you might have a more comfortable time of it if you let us know ...

Many thanks

ETA: That's 27 - 29 October.

Can you remind me which weekend this is, please? Failing that, point me at the post I should have remembered...

Sorry to be disorganised :(

Is this a good weekend or a bad weekend for you?

It's looking like a bad weekend - some good friends of mine are going to be in Cambridge, and I've not seen them for months. Which is a shame, because your moot sounds like a lot of fun!

That is a sham - but maybe next time.

Book sale?

Book sale!

The methodists are having their annual book sale that Saturday. It is always extensive (and cheap!) - I've been in second-hand book-shops with less stock.

Alas, it is just on the Saturday, although I can keep an eye out for books on Indian languages!

Anything reasonably up to date on linguistics in general is liable to cause a massive outburst of squeeage. Thank you! :-)

I shall be there on the Saturday. I may invite myself over on the sunday too, if I can, although there is a slight possibility that I may have to go and see the parentals that day.

Was that a "yes" to the wine from The Mill's cellars btw?

That sounds like great fun. However, I'll have to check my schedule and ponder whether I can get away from my thesis.

Is your place easily accessible by public transport? Maybe I will have to see about getting a lift from another Oxford-based attendee.

Public transport means getting to Bedford by bus. It's then a 15-minute train ride to Harlington, and we live a 7-minute walk from the station.

Or, you could get to Luton (where the bus station and other stops are closer to the train station); trains are again every 15 minutes, this time taking only 10 minutes to get to Harlington.

Or you could go through London!

Rustica is coming, and parrot knight may be. If you can make it, you would be most welcome.

Let us know by the weekend, and we can start working out who gets the beds, and who is going to have to sleep while standing upright ;-)

Hi Gaya - any news on this yet?

Sorry - colour me far-too-busy-to-get-a-minute-online.

And also sorry, looks like i'm not going to make it. My auntie's being sued for divorce and she needs lots of comfort and sympathy and love - and I'm it that weekend, I think.

Next time, eh?!

Indeed; at our current rate of progress, that will be in 2011 or thereabouts ...

I'm still trying to pin my parents down on when they're coming to visit. There seem to be only three possible weekends, and that is one of them. They said they'd discuss it and get back to me tomorrow, so we'll see... I'll let you know.

My parents have now announced that they can't come at all this year, due to an incredibly hectic social life involving the U3A (Ah, what it is to be retired!) If beds are a problem, we're happy staying in a nearby B&B - as long as there's one within walking distance, so we can drink. We also have airbeds, sleeping bags etc., so can cope with some floor space, and we will happily come armed with real ale and fruit wine, if you like.

Pellinor was interested in going to a Living History fair in Coventry on the Sunday, so I think it would be a fleeting visit - probably arriving at lunch time on the Saturday, and leaving on Sunday morning.

You know I'm coming, right? Is that ok? I can sleep standing up! I am an elf after all! Just umm I may need directions transport-wise.... and I can do sleeping bags and roll mats, (or as I like to call them mole rats.) It'll be like D of E all over again!!

We're looking forward to having you. Which night(s) will you be here for? Directions are (roughly) train to Leicester, train to Bedford, train to Harlington, 7 minutes walk from Harlington station; details to follow nearer the time.

Sleeping bag good, roll mat good.
