"Anyway, it being nearly the end of anno domini two-zero-zero-nine, I thought it plausible that people might have things they want to get off their chests before the turning of the year. This, chaps, is the place to do it. Sign out, and say what you like. Hopes, fears, confessions, accusations. Tell me. Pour your heart out. And there is nothing saying that you can only comment once, either."

I thought I had it sorted. 'This way out', etc. Apparently not.

Sometimes I just get fed up with hanging in there.

There is a great deal I have left undone in 2009.

It certainly hasn't been the year I thought it would be.

I feel it should have been more productive. I am particularly disappointed that I wasn't able to make time to get some papers submitted.

On the other hand, the Route of Roma Cultures got launched. We started to see the sun set on the British Empire. My workplace was judged to be "outstanding in a national context". I got to wear a floppy hat.

I spent Christmas with my parents. My father enthuses '2010 is going to be THE year'.

Now, if I could just _buy things_, all will be well.

I knew I wasn't a nonny mouse - I had just not understood 'sign out'!

It's not like people won't know who I am!

I'm happy to remain muuranker.

I'd like to learn not to fall in love in a way that tends towards the unrealistically idealistic and difficult to move on from; and to live in the present day.
