"Was TS Eliot really a friend of CS Lewis?"

Not originally, but I remember reading somewhere that later on they made peace and were quite friendly.

I recall a description of the meeting between them, perhaps in Humphrey Carpenter's "The Inklings".

I have a hardcover copy of Williams' All Hallow's Eve that I got at a second-hand book sale. Tucked in it was a newspaper review of it written by Eliot (and it indicates that Eliot knew CW). I suspect that CW's influence (alive or dead) would have paved a way between Lewis and Eliot.
