I bought these shoes (http://www.office.co.uk/womens/office/frank/30/7048/20700/1/) (tones slightly more muted in the flesh). Jeeves would keel over at the very sight.
One of the Eyjafjallajökull volcano webcams now has a thermal image camera (http://eldgos.mila.is/eyjafjallajokull-fra-thorolfsfelli/) (I'm sure there's a better technical term than that, but it isn't coming to mind). There's another good camera here (http://www.vodafone.is/eldgos/en).
The birds have eaten an entire fat block. I had to stop Melchett going for the collared doves yesterday. I have been burning Jeanine's rabbit hutch. I'm still fascinated by the world's worst electronic circuit. There is a magpie on our bird table. I need to cut the grass. The two fledged blackbird chicks are doing well and hoovering up mealworms. Mother blackbird seems to be starting clutch 2. I need to schedule a time to go and play body-scanner magnets. I hope Siemens have processed my invoice. Perhaps I should send them the next two invoices. I have loads of TS treasurer work to do. Have you sorted out ethical banking yet? Have you sorted out any unethical, but high interest rate, deposit accounts yet? If so, let me know 'cos the Coventry is crap at the moment. Melchett is asleep on a chair. Yvonne has just delivered our post. There are two more TS related letters in there.
Young Welly has been actioned to sort out some new deposit accounts for TS cash (providing ROTR don't need it). Hopefully he'll come up with some good investment deals that we can use. I have money in some account in the Coventry that needs to be moved after the policy matures so I'm interested in alternative investments as well.
Remember this is an unlocked post - are you happy with this level of TS / personal finance being discussed here? (You may be, but I thought I would check).
I wasn't going into the actual amounts - they can wait until a meeting or be discussed on a TS email list. At the end of the day, it will be in the accounts and they will be published.
The Duchess of Hamilton has recently had her streamlining re-fitted. Whilst it looks really cool, it actually made her substantially slower than the less aerodynamic version, because it adds a lot of extra weight...
When I went down to Fairlop Plain today to walk the dog there were over a hundred swifts hawking insects over the lake and wheeling up into the clouds.
I thought they must be swallows at first, but the wings were too long and the tails too short, though heavily forked.
They don't normally hunt insects so low over water, but I guess they were on their way North on migration, and had stopped to feed. We've had huge hatches of insects in the last few days, and they were feasting.
I made loads of phone calls this morning and now that it is time to go out for lots of appointments, it's raining. However, apparently it snowed near MiL.
Oh and it's under 3 weeks til the Eurovision song contest. Woo-hoo.
I went to Bath yesterday to do a fitting for the dress I mentioned lately. As we had some time in hand my daughter and I went to the Moomin shop. I bought myself a Snufkin pen (I really want to be Snufkin though I know I'm Moominmamma). Kit spotted some material and started wishing for a Moomindress - however as it's £20 pm I don't think we can do that!
Being an actuary, I first read £20 pm as £20 per month; and thought, Crikey, that *must* be expensive fabric if you've got to take out a hire purchase agreement to buy it!
