By traditional razor, I presume you mean (or include) modern safety razor cartridges, as opposed to ye olde cut-throat :-)

I had to think about that too.

Mind, the real treat is, of course...

... being shaved. Infrequent but wondrous (always try coinciding a shave with the regular haircut, is my motto, but then, I simply enjoy letting the man at Trumper do his stuff). And I'd a remarkable good shave at a small place near the Hotel Washington off Pennsylvania Avenue in the '80s, as well. Probably gone now, alas: change and decay in all around I see....

Before I had the beard, it was almost always electric. I'm not a morning person (understatement) and wouldn't trust myself with something sharp while I wasn't really awake.

One advantage of the beard is therefore another ten minutes in bed.

Can I point out that you can wet shave with an electric razor because you can buy ones that go in the shower.

I should of course point out that the female of the species is not necessarily exempt from shaving, unelss she wants to be. The most recent scab on my ankle has only just fallen off.

Yes - although women may prefer to pluck, wax, bleach or "epilady", rather than shave. Or, of course, they may simply stay hairy. Which is the option I would recommend, if you can get away with it.

I am disappointed that no-one (yet) has answered "something else you haven't thought of." I was looking forward to reading reports of Heath Robinson shaving contraptions, armies of trained rabbits etc. etc.

I use safety razors for my legs etc, but other half uses a cut throat (with disposable blades)
