Tonight there is a "Booze and Bangers" party for English people at the Big Bang Restaurant. I don't really know what this involves other than I was told to bring a bottle of wine and that sometimes things get a bit rowdy and we are forced to leave the restaurant.

Magdalen College (not pronounced how you think it is), is very old.

I’ve heard through the grape-vine that at Oxford you’re also expected to read your essay out loud to the tutor so that they can listen and interject with opinions, questions or disagreements.

The All Souls College Library was open and I got to see books older than America itself.

I'm guessing the All Souls item means politically, not geologically...

Thank you for giving me a laugh -- I almost put my head down on my desk and wept a little, reading that line.

At least they are having fun.

we went to a indoor market and I saw the biggest dead rabbits ever

I think they would be hares. But I do agree with her on the butchers in the Covered Market as a tourist attraction.

My favourite quote was the picture caption:

"Dead Animals
It seemed so English, that I had to take a picture"

Presumably American meat isn't so technologically antiquated as to come from actual animals. Or something.

Hmm.

'So far, I’ve written an eight page paper in three days on whether Hitler maintained a constant foreign policy in the years leading up to World War II. Because I know you’re dying to know– he didn’t. I’m also simultaneously working on another essay accounting for the origins of the European Community, which eventually becomes the European Union that we know of today.'

Clever way to use the same essay twice, then.

Mind, the System (tutorial) has resulted in some of my favourite anecdotes ('read it again, Mr Betjeman').

Maybe you should title these blog links, "as other see us" they are very charming and sweet and unwittingly funny (to this Brit anyway). I think someone like Ashley would have loved the opportunities presented by ArthSoc and the Stonehenge trip.

I do like the "Doctor Who" reference with the "Creepy Angel" carving photo...
