It's an odd list ...

ETA: When I've got time, I might go through this list as well.

Good grief, why Shrewsbury Abbey? It's a 19C fake. We have enough of the genuine article! I can only suppose the list was drawn up by a fan of the Cadfael books.
And why on earth would anyone go to any of those places in Japan when they could go to Kyoto?

And why on earth would anyone go to any of those places in Japan when they could go to Kyoto?

I was a little baffled by that one myself. Or indeed "why go to Tokyo Disneyland, not just Tokyo", since for a non-Japanese westerner, I'd have thought that just about anywhere in Japan would be more of an 'incredible experience' (or whatever the qualifier for the list is) than a Disney park.

I am also amused by "Scotland". Oh yes, Petra is as nothing compared to a local shopping precinct in Glasgow!

I agree with Segh and nineveh_uk about the slightly... eccentric... nature of the list. (Sydney Opera house but not, you know, Ayers Rock, Alice Springs, the Outback, Tasmania? Disneyland-everywhere instead of the real world?) I also noticed a certain geographical bias; having gone back and counted, all but a quarter of the items are in the EU or the USA. There are only a few items each for Asia and South America, and exactly one (the Pyramids) in Africa. What about Lake Victoria? What about the Sahara? The amazing landscapes of the Veldt? Victoria Falls? Savannah photo-safaris? I suspect I (and indeed you) would be much more interested in any of those than in Universal Studios Japan.

Yes-- your lined-through places (well, I can't vouch for #87) are all far cooler than any Disney visit I've ever made. :-)
