(I am one of a handful of weirdos who don't eat turkey on the holiday -- our family tradition is my mother's spaghetti and meatballs, and it is a delicious tradition indeed.)

I get the impression that Turkey for Thanksgiving in the States is more widespread than it is for Christmas over here - is that right? And what is the traditional Christmas dinner over there?
