I confess I have never seen a duck look so much like a painted wooden duck ... what species is it? It's a lovely photo though. I have taken the liberty of downloading it for a friend of mine who adores birds - I think it would make an excellent desktop for her.

It's a Mandarin duck, Aix galericulata. I've got a couple of other pictures I can send you, which you can pass on if you want to.
