Ooh thanks for sharing! That's quite a collection! So what would be the most interesting, unusual or rare edition you possess?

[BTW I've just done a count on my shelves and I have a very modest eight copies although I'm about to add a paperback I've not seen before!]

That would either be:
* 1982 super deluxe, bound and cased in red leather; not one of the hundred signed copies, unfortunately
or
* Book Club Associates dummy edition.

Wow! That is truly impressive! May I ask how you came to have all these identical copies? :)

[livejournal.com profile] dreiviertel, the word is "apparently", as in "apparently identical."

Reading from left to right:
* Allan Turner, The Silmarillion: Thirty Years On
* Rhona Beare: JRR Tolkien's The Silmarillion
* Clyde Kilby, Tolkien and The Silmarillion
* Paul Kocher, A Reader's Guide to The Silmarillion
* Randel Helms, Tolkien and the Silmarils
* Namsith paperback
* BCA dummy
* 2007 30th anniversary deluxe
* 1982 super deluxe, bound and cased in red leather; not one of the hundred signed copies, unfortunately
* an individually re-bound copy, in blue leather
* Methuen deluxe edition
* Hawaii knock-off
* US Ballantine - bog-standard, as far as I know
* dummy
* signed by Christopher
* Billings printing
* signed by Priscilla and John
* Clowes printing
* 2nd impression
* one with a label saying "Final Setting"
* Book Club Associates
* signed by Guy Gavriel Kay.
* Tawain knock-off.

Not on that shelf are:
* four paperbacks
* standard Folio Society
* deluxe Folio Society
* orange leather deluxe.

This is even more impressive! Sorry for the 'identical' comment, I stand corrected.

You aren't the first one to have asked that question :-)

Hopefully I will be able to add a book to that shelf for you one day, but it really rather depends on whether or not I can get the requisite permissions for use of imagery and characters from the works of Tolkien. I'll be investigating it, once I've got the Celtic and Arthurian ones published. Watch this space.
