Ask again on Christmas Eve. We don't deck the halls til then.

But on Saturday I will probably put up the tree, with Great Cthulhu in his wooly hat and skirt on top if I can rig him up there without tree topple (hat tip [livejournal.com profile] philmophlegm). [edited to close parentheses]

I have a pine wreath on the front door - which is technically an ornament and 'outside', though because of the porch you can't really see it from the street.

Do strings of cards count?

We have both a lighted wreath on the front door and a lighted tree in the window. Not sure if these count as ornaments or ornaments and lights. Have gone for just ornaments.

Oops. I didn't notice the "something in your house not visible from outside" option, so erroneously chose the "none of the above" option. I know I said I was tempted to get something lighty-up that would be visible from the front of the house, but nothing appealed in the first shop I tried, and I didn't feel like trying anywhere else. I hate shopping, and tend to sound the retreat at the slightest reverse.

Skordh obviously didn't notice that option either, since he also ticked "none of the above", but we put our tree up 2 or 3 weeks before Christmas. Possibly Wellinghall has more friends than he realises who have both internally visible Christmas decorations and poor poll-reading skills :-)

I suspect that I have a fairly good idea of this, actually ... ;-)

Admittedly I haven't put up all the garden lights yet.

When you live in a village with no streetlights, garden lights are not only pretty but are also a public service!

I wish I'd ticked the 'something I haven't thought of' box as I'm pretty sure that you hadn't thought of an unexpected matched pair of whippets. :-D

Well, the lights on the tree and around the front room are visible to the outside when the curtains are open...

Wrote a post but decided to comment on my journal instead as it got a bit longwinded.

I think 'something in your house that is not visible from the outside' implies that it is visibile from the inside, and thus does not cover the mysteriously dissappeared decorations.

We have a string of icicle lights in the front window (we normally have a candle arch as well, but it's not working and we haven't had time/tuits to work out why).

Like inamac, we have a wreath on the front door, but since it faces sideways, it's not that visible from the street. Technically you could see the Christmas tree from outside, I suppose, but only if you came into the garden and peered in the window. :-)

I didn't count cards, a few of those are up.

I always put my Christmas tree in the front room, right in front of the window. At night I open the blinds, turn off all the lights, and plug the tree in. From the street outside it looks quite nice.

I have a wreath on the front door, but that's in the communal hall of the flats. I was considering lights for the window, but the ones I liked were £35, so I thought not this time.
