1. Make an LJ-cut post with "DO NOT READ" as the text.
2. Do not select a 'mood' for this post.
3. If anyone clicks the cut, they are to comment and admit to doing so.
4. Anyone who reads this also has to do the same in THEIR journal, thus continuing the never-ending madness.

:-D

EDIT: Of course, this is only going to work for a little while.

I wasn't going to read it, but as soon as I hit the comment, it showed me the text I was about to tell you I wouldn't read...

:-(

I read it instantly. I reasoned that people don't do public posts labelled "do not read" unless the whole point is for people to read them, especially when the post is labelled "test."

Several children's books have been marketed with the "do not read this!" message. There's a book called "Do not read this book!", and one very popular series has been consistently marketed with blurbs, posters, adverts etc. saying, "You will hate this book. Do not read it." They seem to be reasoning that nothing makes people more likely to read a thing than to tell them not to do it.

Rolls eyes. Your childishness is clearly an exponential inverse to the amount of work pressure you have on. In your next tea break, you can work out the exact equation!

:)

ladyofastolat, you can't have read it 'instantly' AND reasoned about it first ;)

My work seems to be at the stage where I need to talk to large numbers of people ... none of whom are at their desks! Having said that, a fourth person has just turned up (out of the nine who are meant to be here today; it's normally ten, but one is in Dublin today - in theory, at least).

Oh well - I suppose I'd better put on some show of being at work! More at lunchtime ...

If you can't find anybody to talk to, I'm at home til 4.

4/9, where are the rest? (I bet those others are at their desks, or at least under them, playing with Lego, hiding from you!). I have a similar problem with my doings at the moment, have to make some chivvying calls and emails today.

If you fancy some music on while you pretend to work, try:
http://www.music-theater-art.caltech.edu/womens/music.html (Vivaldi's Gloria) which is what I was learning to sing last night.

Alas, I have only just seen this. Two of my students, and three of the others, "worked from home" this morning; and then my two students "studied" this afternoon.

And alas, we don;t have soundcards in our PCs at work.

:-p

I read it almost instantly, having reasoned very quickly. ;-)

Why? Because I'm incurably nosy!

I naively thought it was some sort of TMI warning for a medical procedure! Knowing that you always put squicky medical stuff behind a cut... I think that was a reasonable assumption. But then, I've just got back from having blood tests :)

Of course I read it! You can't say that and than expect us not to read it! :)
