I'm in New Job Purdah, too braindead to do much more LJing than desultory comments; Malaheed is well, but has some family worries preying on his mind. Thanks for asking :-)
Yes, a flat-coated retriever (from Norway) was awarded the best in the working dog group on the first day of Crufts yesterday. It will be going forward to compete for the title "Best in Show" on Sunday.
The connection is that my grandfather bred, worked and showed flatcoats for many years, winning Best of Breed at Crufts for nine years running :-)
I'm not really sure what you're thinking was wrong with the pink jacket. It looked fine to me. You are one of two people that I can think of who could carry off wearing a pink jacket like that.
It was such a pretty dog! And it seemed so happy at the Best in Show. Crufts just makes me go I WANT A DOG!! still mummy says no.*still holding out for that Dobermann* *sniff*. I have to say I think it was between the retriever and the Tibetan Terrier, though Fabulous Willy was just that.
