And you think this will convince me to stop mocking your Mills&Boon buying, how??!

There's nothing wrong with Bucks Fizz! (preferably made with fresh orange juice, but you can't always have everything ... )

Well the drink is refreshing, but the band only appear to grannies and other readers of romantic stories ...

Well I can see them ;-)

Well that proves my points whichever way I type "appeal" (which is what I intended - I thought you read minds?)

I like them. Had their album (possibly still do, although without a tape player to play it on) and am not ashamed. And I'm *definitely* not a reader of romantic stories, or a granny.

Brotherhood of Man were better, though.

Save...all...your...kisses for me, save all your kisses for me, bye bye baby, bye bye ...

Who's seen the complete load of tosh that has been selected this year, eh?

Well, and Abba naturally although I don't bracket them as "Eurovision" - they are in another league.

Well quite! And whatever one's personal views of him, Cliff Richard was probably the "biggest" Eurovision entry.

No, I just expect other people to do so ;-)

And anyway, I didn't buy them!

Took your time to say that didn't you ...

Ignorant American...

I don't recognize the band or the tunes. How sad am I?

"Making Your Mind Up", by Bucks Fizz, was Britain's entry in the Eurovision song contest* in 1981. It won, which (a) bland pop like this tends to, and (b) pretty well guaranteed them several years of success in Britain (and, I believe, much of the rest of Europe).

*A post-World-War-II "Let's get Europe pulling together" type thing. Still going strong after 50-some years.

I'm 41, so finding the first song on YouTube was a big nostalgia hit for me.

You're only a couple of years older than I am, but I've never travelled to Europe and am really ignorant about its pop culture.

I've been to America three times - Florida on business, and California twice to see my wife Creatrix's family.

We probably know more about American pop culture than vice-versa.
