Frustration
Aug. 19th, 2010 04:42 pmGah. LJ won't let me post a numerical poll with a scale of less than one (tho' admittedly this is only a very minor frustration!)
ETA: Swann is the third fastest bowler to 100 Test wickets (in terms of time). Who is ahead of him in the list?
ETA2: In terms of time:
1 Kapil Dev
2 Mitchell Johnson
3 Swann
(or, depending on your source, Johnson and Swann may be equal second)
In terms of numbers of tests:
1 GA Lohmann, 16 tests
2= CTB Turner, SF Barnes, CV Grimmett, each on 17 tests
AL Valentine, AME Roberts and IT Botham, each on 19 tests, were the fastest post-war bowlers.

If you'd like to see my CBT posts (when I get round to writing them!), please let me know.
Please feel free to suggest a word that doesn't describe me.
If you'd like to suggest five things that you associate me with - or if you would like me to come up with five things for you - please let me know.
And if you would like me to take a photo of something, please say so.
And finally - how long have we known each other?

Admin-y things
Apr. 21st, 2008 09:07 pmIf you want to be on my Tolkien filter, but aren't, please say so. Similarly, if you aren't, but want to be, please say so. (If you can see my post from earlier this evening about Oxonmoot, you're on it).
Should I set up a separate filter for Tolkien Society posts, do you think?
I've done lots of polls over the last few weeks - I like them to be representative, so if you haven't completed them yet, please take a look.
There are also two posts of
ladyofastolat's that I'm interested in, and you might be as well:

I've got four Tolkien books listed on eBay at the moment, with another dozen or so to come soon. I have also got a few maths books, and lots of actuarial science ones, to get rid of. Let me know if you're interested.
I need new icons! I'd like ones for Oxford, Taruithorn, the Tolkien Society, Orkney, Norway, Svalbard, science fiction, fantasy, books / reading, and possibly others which temporarily escape me. Making me with some will earn you lots of brownie points. (I would offer you brownies, but I've never made them and I'm not the world's greatest cook. Not bad, but not great).
Um, that's probably it for the moment.
