What I've been forgetting to tell you ...
Jun. 5th, 2006 05:58 pm... is that I went to the hospital last Wednesday, for a consultation. He carried out a digital examination and a sigmoidoscopy, and said he could see nothing wrong except piles. However, given my medical history, there might be a polyp, and so he would arrange a colonoscopy for 10 July. So I've got (a) fasting and prep, (b) an IV, and (c) a big tube being stuck up my bottom to look forward to. Hugs, manly shoulder pats, chocolate etc all appreciated.
I am pleased I am going to have it done (well, sort of!); but it was a pointless appointment really, because I could have told him that I had piles and that I needed a colonoscopy. Thinking about it, I suppose he might have found something very wrong, and admitted me there and then.
It was only after I got home that I remembered that we are going to be away the weekend before that, so I will need to re-arrange the appointment.
