Number of books put on eBay: twelve, to add to the five I put up last Tuesday (please take a look! - there's some good stuff there)

That's what I've done when I've sold stuff on eBay - set of (kitchen) scales to weigh, cross referenced with the Royal Mail website plus an arbitrary charge to cover the cost of packing materials, then rounded up to the nearest pound.

Having said that, for items that I suspect won't sell for more than a couple of quid, and where the P&P would be less than a pound, I tend to put an arbitrary "Seller's standard postage" of perhaps £2, otherwise it wouldn't be worth the hassle.
