I think he's quite witty and makes some half-decent observations, some of the time. He's quite well read, too. Although he does act like a prat sometimes too. Many men (or indeed, people) sleep with a lot of other people, not always in a potentially lasting relationship - surely they're not ALL morons?

Yes, I think my reply to Wellinghall's poll was "Someone obnoxious" and this looks like ten of those. Though Mervyn King did say something sensible recently, didn't he?

From what I have seen / heard, Mervyn King is a very sensible man. He is hindered by the tripartite system of regulation put in place by the current government, where bank regulation is shared between the Bank of England, the Financial Services Authority, and HM Treasury - but then, I didn't hear Mervyn King - or anyone else - complaining much about this before the crash.

I'm mildly interested by their opinion that James M is more dangerousinfluential than his father; I'd had him down as essentially the local mouthpiece for the family. (ie, peddler/promoter for his father's influence rather than strictly influential himself.) But I might be wrong, and I do agree with pellegrina.

I heard a mention on Radio 4 in the summer that James Murdoch was very much a man in his own right, and not just a mouthpiece for his father - but I can't remember just what was said. I'll see what GQ says about both of them (although it is just a few lines).
