On our way back from Wolverhampton yesterday, we got off the train at Bristol Parkway ... and found we had left one of our bags on the train. We spoke to a member of staff, who radioed another member of staff, who rang the next station on, who found the bag, and sent it back on the next train northbound. I am quick enough to criticise railway staff when they don't do a good job; but I also like to say thank you, and acknowledge publicly, when they do do a good job, and go that extra mile.

We gave two of the people involved some fresh eggs, which I think they appreciated :-)

Today, I shall be visiting Northwood Hills, Baker Street, Paddington, and Bristol Parkway.

There are five train stations in Great Britain with more than 30 million passenger entry / exit movements a year.

London Waterloo, 87.9m
London Victoria, 70.2m
Liverpool Street, 55.1m
London Bridge, 49.7m
London Charing Cross, 36.7m

And there are five stations with fewer than 100 entry / exit movements a year.
Barry Links, 94
Kirton Lindsey, 88
Maidstone Barracks, 70
Denton, 56
Teesside Airport, 44

I clearly need a train icon.
